On May 12, the village of Yurt-Ora proudly welcomed a team of specialists from the Novosibirsk State Regional House of Folk Art (NGODNT) and researchers from the Perm Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The visit took place as part of the All-Russian Folklore and Ethnographic Expedition dedicated to the study of intangible ethnocultural heritage sites of the Russian Federation in the Novosibirsk region.
The guests showed particular interest in the rich and distinctive traditional cuisine of the Chat Tatars. Our dear keepers of the hearth and bearers of culinary traditions — Nasima Babkina, head of the public organization of Tatar women “Ak Kalfak” in the Kolyvan district; Amina Terkulova, keeper of traditional recipes and activist of “Ak Kalfak” from the village of Yurt-Ora; and Mavlyukha Yarushkina, also an activist of “Ak Kalfak” from the village of Yurt-Ora — not only managed to introduce the guests to unique dishes but also conducted a fascinating masterclass. The results exceeded all expectations — our guests were deeply impressed by the tastes and aromas of Tatar cuisine!
Navel Shagabutdinov, chairman of the local public organization “Preserving the Heritage of the Chat Tatars,” gave the researchers an educational tour, immersing them in the rich history of our historic village of Yurt-Ora.
This day became a vivid example of how important it is to preserve and promote our cultural heritage. We are proud that Yurt-Ora has contributed to this large-scale research!
