Association of Tatars and Bashkirs of Switzerland “Yuldash” invites you to the annual national holiday “Sabantuy”! It is planned in a traditional place – the Marignac park in Geneva on June 17.
The holiday will open in Tatar and Bashkir and languages, then it will be conducted in Russian and French.
Sabantuy traditionally marks the successful completion of plowing. It is a festival of fertility and well-being. But today it is, of course, not only a holiday of farmers. Here, in Geneva, in addition to strengthening the friendly ties within the Russian-speaking community, it aims at acquaintance with the Tatar and Bashkir cultures and traditions.
For example, guests can eat national delicacies, which they so miss outside their native places. Undoubtedly, this is the Tatar chak-chak and kystyby, and Bashkir honey. Sabantuy is impossible without sports for adults and children, among which the most unusual and bright, of course, is the wrestling at the belts of Koresh.
It is curious that not only people who live in Switzerland will come, but also guests from Russia, Britain, Germany, Italy, France have confirmed their participation.
The program stars the first Bashkir teenage TV series “Bireshm!” TV channel “Tamyr”, singer from St. Petersburg Gulnur Karabulatova, a soloist girl of the Folk Dance Ensemble named after F. Gaskarova Yamilya Bikbaeva, Bashkir from Moscow, participant of the competition “Bayık”, kubyz players Zabida Khazieva.
Designer and connoisseur of Bashkir costumes Salim Usmanov is going to bring to Geneva a collection of Bashkir costumes and present ethno-defile. Photo artist Gulnaz Galimullina will send her photo exhibition Monisto.
The concert will also be attended by local stars – the People’s Artist of Udmurtia Nadezhda Utkina, the vocal-instrumental ensemble “Let’s Sing Together” (Swiss singing in Russian, Udmurt, Bashkir and Tatar), children from the group “Dancing Like Nureyev” under the guidance of our fellow countryman Guzel Usmanov-Gobe, “Romano-art” with incendiary dances.
