April 18, a legendary dancer and choreographer Vladimir Vasilyev turned 75 years old. In honor of his anniversary, at the historic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia the play «DONA NOBIS PACEM» (production by M. Jalil Tatar Academic State Opera and Ballet) choreography by V.V.Vasilev took place. We remind that the world premiere was performed on April 14 and 15, 2015, in Kazan.
For showing the play in Moscow, a troupe of Tatar Opera and Ballet Theater left with 233 people – choir, ballet, orchestra, soloists and artistic leadership of the theater.
Intentionally, for a jubilee evening in Moscow Vladimir Victorovich changed a little the beginning of the performance. As soon as the curtain opened, the audience saw on the place of the conductor V. Vasiliev himself, who by a willed powerful gesture signaled the beginning of the action. After that, the conductor Vincent de Kort took his place and the play continued.
The hall was crowded (tickets for the show were sold three months prior to the date), the event was attended by numerous admirers of Vladimir Vasiliev, including well-known artists, Vladimir Zeldin, Irina Antonova, Alexander Shirvindt, Natalia Belokhvostikova, Albina Shagimuratova, Nikolai Grishko, Tatyana Vedeneyeva and many others.
Before the beginning of the second act, when Vladimir Vasiliev took an honorary place on the Tsar’s box, an audience welcomed a celebrant standing with a thunderous applause. Congratulations to the hero of the day were sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky. At the end of the show, Bishop Tikhon of Podolsk came on the scene and read out greetings from the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
At the end of the evening, Vladimir Vasiliev took the stage and gave a speech: “Perhaps it was the most precious gift I received for 75 years of my life. Thank you! I am grateful to all the participants of the Kazan theater and our production group. They were wonderful people, wonderful in every way, and they were people, imbued with a single idea – to do good, the good to the close. ”
The audience did not let the celebrant go, production group and artists from the scene, having presented their 10-minute standing ovation.
