On the eve of the main Muslim holiday of Eid al Fitr – September 23, celebrations devoted to the opening of the renewed Moscow Cathedral Mosque will be held.

The space of new complex is 18.9 square meters (in the former it was only 964 square meters). Now, in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque 10 thousand believers are able to pray. The reconstruction of the mosque took several years. At the renewed six-storey building 7 elevators will operate. The height of the dome – 47 meters, in diameter – 27. The material assistance has been provided by both the ordinary Muslims, and some Muslim countries. Of particular importance is the contribution made by Turkey and Kazakhstan.

At the celebration of the mosque opening are expected to attend a large number of guests of honor. The media called the names of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.

Chairman of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov will take part in festivities.
