August 25 in the Volgograd region officially a Tatar cultural and educational center “Idel” was registered.

The organization intends to support the development of the Tatar traditions and customs, handicrafts revival and preservation of the language. The center’s employees have conducted language training in the Volga. The Humanitarian Institute on weekends teach Tatars. There’s also operates a dance club with a focus on Tatar dances. The institute and the museum opened Tatar traditions. So far, the organization employs 15 people. September 23, the delegation will go to the center for the first event – the National Festival of Tatar folklore “Tugyaryak uyen” in Yoshkar-Ola.

Chairman of the center Rafik Balbeko explained that the name is translated as “Volga”, and the aim of the organizers was to unite Tatars living on different sides of the river. “There was so uneven that the Tatars live in the

territory of the region. Most settled in the Leninsky region – Malyaevka and Bakhtiyarovka, on the left bank of the Volga. And many others of our compatriots settled in Svetloyarsky region on the right bank “, – he said.
