On August 31, 2023, a round table on the regional history and development of Tatar local lore in the eastern regions of Tatarstan was held on the basis of the Aznakayev Central Library. The meeting was attended by representatives of local history structures of Aznkaevsky, Almetyevsky, Menzelinsky, Sarmanovsky and Tukayevsky districts of Tatarstan.

The head of the Committee for Work with Tatar Local Historians of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars, Chairman of the Society of Tatar Local Historians of the Republic of Tatarstan, Professor Albert Burkhanov summed up the activities of Tatar local historians in the regions of Tatarstan and the regions of the Volga region, the Urals and Siberia. He paid special attention to the work of local historians of the eastern regions of the Republic of Tatarstan, in particular Aznakaevsky, Tukayevsky, Menzelinsky, Sarmanovsky and Muslyumovsky districts. He emphasized the role of the Administration of the Aznakaevsky district, the Aznakaevsky Central Library and the editorial office of the newspaper “Mayak” in the development of Tatar local lore.

Albert Burkhanov also shared plans for the second half of 2023 and upcoming events in 2024.

The round table was also attended by the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Mayak” F.F.Shaikhullov, director of the Museum of the Great Patriotic War and Local History of the Sarmanovsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan D.M.Kashipova, representative of the World Congress of Tatars in the Aznakaevsky district Z.G.Minnekhanova, etc.

It was decided to hold the next meeting of the local history structures of Eastern Tatarstan also in Aznakaevo in November 2023.
