March 6, 2014, at the luxurious, historic building in London Nauruz, a fete of spring equinox was marked. The festival organizer became a prominent public figure of UK, Lady Renwick – Nauruz Commission Ambassador in the United Kingdom. The celebration was attended by members of the House of Lords of the United Kingdom, ambassadors of foreign countries, accredited in London, journalists , prominent members of the British public and the leaders of the national – cultural societies of the Great Britain. Among the invited participants, UK Association of Tatars took an active part likewise. Within the holiday, an interesting art exhibition was organized, as well as showing the national dress and national cuisines, where the holiday Nauruz is widely celebrated.
The celebration ended with a concert program . At these events, the UK Tatar organization actively participated in and showed national costumes, Tatar national cuisine , the Republic of Tatarstan invited also artists, who very beautifully performed and decorated this holiday. This is a charming and very talented singer Liliana Gazizova , a group ” Zu – Lya -La “, cute and lovely deserved artiste of Tatarstan Zulfiya Valeyeva, Laisan Makhmutova, Laisan Zakirova. They performed splendidly, sang songs in different genres, folk, pop, classical works. In this regard, I wish to thank our artists for the wonderful songs, as well as Chairman of the Executive committee of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zinnurovich Zakirov, who supported Tatar Association of the Great Britain and thanks to him personally Nauruz festival participants could evaluate our Tatar national culture.
Employees of the Russian Embassy in the UK in the face of cultural adviser Artem Kozhin with a pleasure enjoyed this holiday. In addition to artists , to support the UK Tatars chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Tatarstan Shamil Rakhimovich Ageev and his family arrived, for what many thanks. Also, his daughter – Elena Shamilevna Ageeva, representative of the RT Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the UK and leader of the Tatar Youth Association in UK actively supports the Association of British Tatars.
UK Tatars do not forget their national traditions. We constantly communicate with our countrymen, with other national-cultural societies and take this opportunity to remind that at the beginning of summer Tatar’s favorite holiday plow – Sabantui begins. Wherever Tatars lived, this holiday is held in early summer, as in the villages, this holiday was carried out after the spring field works were over and one could relax and have a fun.
