Оn April 28, the RT State Council held a press conference on  implementing   the Law of the Republic of Tatarstan on  State Languages ​​of the Republic of Tatarstan and other languages ​​in the Republic of Tatarstan. Questions of journalists were answered by deputy of the  RT State Council,  head of the deputy group “TNV” at the  RT State Council,  chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov.

Rinat Zakirov said that the law of the Republic of Tatarstan “On  state languages ​​of the Republic of Tatarstan and other languages ​​in the Republic of Tatarstan” is one of the most important documents of the republic that arose as a result of long discussions and consensus among the peoples of Tatarstan.

“The recent Third Congress of the Tatar people has reaffirmed that this law is being implemented. All the peoples living on the territory of the republic feel both care and attention in matters of preservation and development of languages. The activities of the Assembly of Peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan and the House of Friendship of Peoples have long proved their effectiveness. The House of Friendship of Peoples of Tatarstan has become a kind of methodical base, a model for many regions of Russia, which in recent years had studied the experience of Tatarstan and created similar structures, “Rinat Zakirov said.

But, as the speaker said, some difficulties arise regarding the implementation of the law. “Although we also say that all conditions have been created, in terms of  spreading  the Tatar language as a state language, especially at the level of educational institutions, there are  some  remarks. In recent years, issues have been raised about the methods of teaching the Tatar language in schools and kindergartens. It is necessary to pay tribute to the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic, which is paying  a close attention to this direction, “he said.

Touching on the activities of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars, which Rinat Zakirov has been heading for 15 years, he called Sabantui  a holiday uniting all nations and nationalities. “It is no accident that the regions of the country   have enthusiastically taken up our initiative. Federal Sabantui, which gathers tens of thousands of compatriots, has turned into a large-scale project, which many regional heads have included in the list of official events on its territory, “said the deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan.

At the end of his speech, Rinat Zakirov answered the journalists’ questions. In particular, the question was raised about studying the Chuvash language, which, according to one of the journalists, is not taught at the proper level in the republic.

Answering this question,  Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars, said that every resident should know his native language. “Education in  native language from the first class is a very important factor. I bring this idea to the meetings in the regions of the republic. According to the law “On  state languages ​​of the Republic of Tatarstan and other languages ​​in the Republic of Tatarstan,” the school management must determine  number of hours for teaching languages, “he said.

At the end of the press conference,  head of the Translation and Identification Department of the texts of the laws of the Republic of Tatarstan  and normative legal documents of the Staff of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Nuriy Khayrullin, spoke about  publication of the Russian-Tatar socio-political dictionary with annexes (Official Names, State Awards, “, etc.) within the framework of the implementation of the Law of RT “On  state languages ​​of the Republic of Tatarstan and other languages ​​in the Republic of Tatarstan “.
