The Aktobe Regional Art Museum in Aktobe, Kazakhstan, hosted the opening of the exhibition of works by the participants of the 12th International Art Symposium on Contemporary Art “Rites and Customs” organized by the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve in July 2017 with the support of the Ministries of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan and the branch of the Union of Artists of Russia in Tatarstan.
The guests were greeted by director of the Aktyubinsk Regional Art Museum Marat Gabdrakhmanov, the representative of the Tatar-Bashkir ethnocultural association “Shatlyk” Elvira Khabibulina, as well as the participant of the Elabuga Art Symposia 2015, 2016, 2017, the member of the Union of Kazakhstan Artists Radina Batpenova and the Aktobe artist, member Union of Artists of Kazakhstan Ilsiyar Kazakova. The Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve was represented by Marina Zharkovskaya, Deputy Director General of the State Hermitage Museum for the Stocktaking and Storage of Funds, Gulnara Podnoskova, Head of the Exhibition Hall of the ESMR.
The exhibition presents about 70 works by artists from Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Hungary and Turkey. The aim of the exhibition is to expand interregional and international cultural cooperation, strengthen friendship between countries, exchange experience in the development of professional visual arts. We will add that artists and craftsmen of folk crafts and arts and crafts from Kazakhstan have repeatedly participated in the bright and large-scale projects of the Elabuga State Museum-Reserve.
Residents and guests of Aktobe will be able to visit the exhibition “Rites and customs” until October 15.
