October 27, in Tashkent, the conference “Russia and Uzbekistan: new horizons of cooperation” devoted to the 25 anniversary of the CIS and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan took place.
Organizers of the conference – the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The conference was attended by representatives of state and public organizations of the Republic, including the Republican interethnic cultural center of Uzbekistan, representative Offices of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan, people’s friendship University, Russian universities, the RUDN and HShE, YuGU, chairmen of the Russian, Tatar, Bashkir and Crimean Tatar cultural centers, mass media representatives, compatriots and students.
Head of the Representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Uzbekistan V. Shulika noted that the relations between Russia and Uzbekistan have a long history: “For the last 25 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations, we have gained the potential for enhanced cooperation and can talk about multifaceted cooperation within the CIS and Uzbekistan. Today we open new horizons of cooperation”.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev has outlined the path of development of the diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan, noted the results of economic and humanitarian cooperation, told about the prospects. “Relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan are genuinely of friendly nature, today we are building cooperation on the basis of more than 200 interstate, intergovernmental, interdepartmental documents and constantly expanding public interaction”.
Uzbek partners conducted a historical review, reflecting the range of large-scale projects implemented by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Uzbekistan. The conference featured more than 20 full reports covering multilateral cooperation of the CIS countries, Russia and Uzbekistan.
The participants were interested in the speech by Professor of Tashkent State Pedagogical University after Nizami N.Mirkurbanov, noting the fact that modern teachers of Uzbekistan have a full understanding of the current Russian education due to the activities of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Professor of Tashkent medical Academy Sh. Baimuradov stressed that the Uzbek students every year aspire to study in Russian Universities.

Speakers marked a wide thematic scope of the conference, expressed confidence that the Uzbek-Russian relations in scientific, cultural, economic, information and humanitarian areas will be broadened and deepened.
