May 12, in the evening, the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with activists of the Tatar community of Austria “Miras”. The meeting was held within the framework of the working visit of Rustam Minnikhanov to Vienna.
The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Austria Dmitry Lubinsky.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the members of the Tatar community “Miras” for the preservation of culture, language and traditions of the Tatar people, for a proactive stance.
Tatarstan President said that the company “Miras” was registered in January 2016, the decision was taken after a number of participants has been increasing. The society “Miras” actively is cooperating with the World Congress
of Tatars (WCT), it became part of the European Alliance of Tatars.
Tatarstan President marked that today only a third of the Tatars all over the world live in the republic, a large part – in other regions of Russia and other countries of the world. It is important to maintain the relationship, to develop cooperation, he said, addressing the representatives of the Tatar community in Austria, we need you, you keep the identity of the Tatar people, its culture.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, today it is important to rely on activists of Tatar Diaspora communities around the world.
During the meeting, members of the Tatar community “Miras” invited the Russian ambassador in Austria Dmitry Lyubinsky to visit the national holiday Sabantui, which will be held in Vienna in June this year.
With their suggestions and wishes regarding the organization of cooperation with Tatarstan, the World Congress of Tatars spoke the activists of “Miras”. They, in particular, raised the issue of the joint organization of summer camps for children, including those from Tatastan, with the possibility of studying the native Tatar language.
Rustam Minnikhanov also told about the project of creation of a private kindergarten in Vienna with the study of the Tatar language, and other projects.
In addition, the issue was raised of creating a certain educational and cultural center in Vienna.
Rustam Minnikhanov suggested to consider the possibility of a Rossotrudnichestvo, he also reminded that Vienna has a “Russian House”, on the basis of which could possibly be placed Tatar educational and cultural center.
With regard to cooperation and networking with the creative young people – the Tatars living abroad, Rustam Minnikhanov suggested to create a separate section on the portals of the WCT and Tatarstan Ministry of Culture.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia in Austria, in turn, noted that today it is important to step up humanitarian cooperation and thanked the members of the society “Miras” for activity.
