July 25, Saransk hosted the annual republican competition on knowledge of religious traditions and national culture of the Tatars.
This event is held for the thirteenth time this year for the first time it was held in the capital of Mordovia, in the territory of the Central Mosque “Aal Mansour.”
The event began with a competition on religious knowledge, and knowledge of the culture of the Tatar people, which were held inside the Central Mosque. Teams of five people from different religious communities competed in the following categories: fikkh (Islamic law), aqyda (creed), Syrah (biography) of the Prophet Muhammad, tafsir (interpretation and meaning)
of the Holy Qur’an, the history and culture of the Tatar people, Hadith, general questions.
As a result, according to the competitions the winner was a team of local religious organization “Iman” from Lyambir village, which last year were silver medalists. The second were Muslims from Central Mosque of Saransk and the third place was taken by representatives of the local religious organization Proletarian District of Saransk. After the end of the contest, a national poet Shamil Ramaev performed before the audience with a very soulful poem about how to be a Muslim.
After making the midday prayer in the square outside the Central Mosque, an official opening took place. Chairman of CRO DUM RM Ilduz Mufti Hazrat Iskhakov, the deputy of Romodanovsky district, entrepreneur and philanthropist Qasim Aminovich Baimashev, chief editor of “Yuldash”, honored the writer and People Mordovia poet Kamil Abidullovich Tangalychev, director of the Foundation the needy “Muslims of Mordovia” Talip Rafailovich Abubekirov, delegations of Muslim spiritual boards from Penza, Saratov, Ivanovo and Ulyanovsk regions welcomed the preasent.
In his speech Ilduz Hazrat praised Almighty Allah for the opportunity to hold these competitions, bringing together brothers in the faith, thereby strengthening the
fraternal relations. Also, Ilduz Hazrat thanked delegations from other regions who have come to share the joy. Guests of neighboring regions in their speeches thanked the organizers for such a useful and interesting event and expressed hope that it would grow into an inter-regional level.
