On the 28th day of the month of Zulkagda (June 27), a solemn ceremony of presenting ijaz (certificates) was held at the Hafiz Training Center of Qur’an named after Usman ibn Affan KIU – evidence of knowledge of the set of rules for reading Qur’an in the poetic form “Mukaddima al-Jazariya” and about knowledge of the book on tajweed “Tukhvatul atfal”. The director of the Kuran KIU Hafiz Training Center, Doctor of Islamic Sciences, Abdrashit Hazrat Faizov, handed over the Ijaz to Shakirs who were trained during 2020-2022: 28 Ijaz for the knowledge of “Tukhvatul atfal” and 10 Ijaz for the knowledge of “Mukaddima al-Jazariya”. The head of the Department of Education and Science of the Spiritual Muslim Board of the Republic of Tatarstan Gayaz Hazrat Akhmetshin, Vice-Rector of KIU, Doctor of Islamic Sciences Rustam Hazrat Nurgaliyev also took part in the solemn event.

The certificate confirms that the holders of the Ijaza know these books by heart. The document also talks about the importance of gaining knowledge, spreading Islamic sciences and transferring knowledge along the chain: from a mentor to a student. Ijaz indicates the names of the mentor and his disciple, the followers of the chain, starting with the Prophet ﷺ. In the Muslim world, religious leaders who have received ijaza are considered the keepers of theological knowledge and have the right to pass it on to others.

After the official speeches, the shakirds recited by heart the set of rules for reading the Qur’an in the poetic form of “Mukaddima al-Jazariya”.
