Kazan is accepting works for participation in the IX International Independent Literary Prize “Glagolitsa”. Writers and poets aged 10 to 17 who write in Russian and Tatar will be able to take part in it.
The competition includes nine categories: “Poetry in Russian”, “Poetry in Tatar”, “Prose in Russian”, “Prose in Tatar”, “Literary translations from French, English, German into Russian”, “Literary translations from Tatar into Russian and from Russian into Tatar”, “Essays in Russian”, “Multilinguals” and “NeFormat”.
To participate, you must register on the competition website before September 19, fill out the questionnaire, study the competition regulations and attach a competition work that meets the specified requirements in your personal account. Until October 24, the jury of the competition, which includes well-known writers, will determine the long and short list of participants in the award. Andrey Usachev, Narine Abgaryan, Nina Dashevskaya, Sergey Makhotin, Viktor Lunin, Rkail Zaydulla, Galimyan Gilmanov, Rustem Galiullin, Rifat Salah and others will determine the best works. The competition is free, there are no registration fees.
The main part of the competition will be held from 13 to 18 November during the literary shift in the children’s camp. A rich cultural program and master classes with famous writers, journalists and translators await all participants, according to the organizer of the competition, the Happy Stories Charitable Foundation.
The awards ceremony will take place on November 18 at the Ekiyat Puppet Theater. The prize fund of the award: 140 vouchers for a literary session, 140 almanacs with the works of the shortlisted participants, 36 tablets, 36 sets of a small library, as well as 9 “Crystal Owl” figurines, which are the main prizes of the “Glagolitsa” award.
