September 26, Yekaterinburg hosted a general meeting of the members of one of the largest Tatar public organizations in the Urals – “Congress of Tatars (Tatars of Urals) Sverdlovsk oblast.”
This year, Congress of organization members has been held for the third time. It was attended by about 400 members of organization from 35 municipalities of the Sverdlovsk oblast. The Congress delegates were welcomed by heads of the executive and legislative authorities of the oblast as well as by chairman of the Executive Committee of World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov.
Nine years ago, at the Yekaterinburg theater “Shchelkunchik, the I Djien of the public organization “Congress of Tatars (Tatars of Urals) Sverdlovsk oblast took place.” Then it was attended by 118 delegates from
24 regions of the oblast. At the event in 2015 more than 300 activists of the Tatar world Urals have gathered.
Topics raised by the meeting participants were aimed at further preserving the national identity of the Tatar people, language, traditions and culture.
Today, the Congress “Urals Tatars” brings together the most advanced forces of the Tatar community in the oblast. It consists of: the deputies of different levels of local government, business leaders, business executives. Therefore, representatives of the executive and legislative authorities perceive Tatar Congress of the Sverdlovsk oblast as the largest organization representing the interests of the Tatars in the oblast.
For progress in inter-parliamentary cooperation of the Sverdlovsk Oblast and the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Executive Committee of World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov was awarded the silver medal of the Legislative Assembly of Sverdlovsk oblast .
The first chairman of “Urals Tatars” in 2009 was chosen Rinat Sadr. After his appointment July 1, 2011 the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Sverdlovsk oblast, head of the organization performed Faviya Safiullina. Then the chairman of the board has been selected Marat Salikhov. The most
striking events for the past 3 years has become an annual Sabantui in 37 towns of the Sverdlovsk oblast, Outdoor interregional competition of Tatar performers “Ural Sandugach”, Dzhalilovskiye and Tukaevskiye reading, and many others.
By majority of votes, the work of the Board of the Congress “Urals Tatars” was found to be satisfactory. The members of the Board of the new expanded social organization have became 34 people from different parts of the obalst. Chairman of the Board for a new three-year term Marat Salikhov has been re-elected. Great gifts for Sverdlovsk during Dzhien became a concert of masters of arts from the Republic of Tatarstan.
