Three new streets in the residential complex “Salavat Kupere” will be named after prominent cultural figures, including the singer Ilgam Shakirov. This is reported in the collection of documents of the Kazan Executive Committee on March 21.
“Assign the following names to the newly formed streets on the territory of the Salavat Kuper residential complex in Kirovsky district of Kazan: street number 1 will henceforth be called Mustai Karim Street – Mostai Krim Urama; Street number 2 – „Ilgam Shakirov Avenue – Ilham Shakirov Avenues“; Street number 3 – Alfiya Avzalova Street – Ulfiya Avzalova Urama, ”the collection says.
The first street will be named after Mustai Karim, a Bashkir Soviet poet, writer and playwright. He is a folk poet of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and the Hero of Socialist Labor.
The second street will be named in honor of Ilham Shakirov, an outstanding representative of the Tatar musical culture. Shakirov was a talented performer, owner of a beautiful timbre of his voice – a unique baritone.
The third street will be named after Alfiya Avzalova, a Soviet and Russian Tatar singer, Honored Artist of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, People’s Artist of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
Two stars – Ilgam Shakirov and Alfia Avzalov – died recently, with a difference of just a year and a half. The famous Tatar singer left for the 84th year of life after a long illness on January 16, 2019. Alfiya Avzalova did not become June 15, 2017.
