On December 25, 2019, General of the Army, President of the Academy of Military Sciences, Doctor of Military and Historical Sciences, veteran of the Great Patriotic War Makhmut Akhmetovich Gareev passed away.

To honor the memory of the legendary military leader, family members, relatives, employees of the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation, representatives of the Autonomy of the Tatars of Moscow gathered at the Federal Military Memorial Cemetery.

They also remembered the veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Colonel Anver Khaidarovich Chanyshev, who was buried here.

For many years, Anver Khaidarovich was the head of CSKA, a member of the International Olympic Committee, an active member of the Tatar National Cultural Autonomy of Moscow.

These outstanding personalities made a huge contribution to the history of the country and the Tatar people.
