On February 18, a Tatar women organization “Ak kalfak” gathered women from all regions of the republic on the introductory seminar at the building of the Board of the World Congress of Tatars.

Among the guests in Kazan, there were women already elected leaders of the formed branches of the organization on sites and initiative groups , which have yet to establish their offices. Head of “Ak kalfak ” Kadriya Idrissova explained the necessity for such a meeting that it could be possible to inform Tatar female public about the existence of organization, the goals and objectives, which it sets for itself.

Chairman of the Board of World Tatar Congress Rinat Zakirov came for a meeting with activists. He spoke about the main activities of World Tatar Congress, designated hopes the Congress imposes on the organization of Tatar women “Ak kalfak”.

According to Rinat Zakirov, it is impossible to solve an acute problem of preservation of the Tatar language without the support of family, and this means, a woman. In his opinion, it is necessary, using all possibilities of World Tatar Congress, day and night, to convey to people the need to preserve native language. Chairman of the Executive Committee of the WCT also spoke on conservation and infusing Tatar national costume into our daily life, which is an integral part of our spiritual heritage and determines our mental nature.

Tatar women’s organization “Ak kalfak” works under the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars. It was organized in 1990. The first president of the organization was a well known journalist and public figure Rosa Tufitullova. The organization has always gathered into its ranks the most intelligent Tatar women, concerned about the national identity of Tatar people.
