On 104 year old, the oldest Tatar grandma, who lives in the town of Okha Sakhalin Island, an honorary member of the Tatar “Educational and Cultural Center” Tugan Tel “( mother tongue) Minsylu Badrutdinova passed away.

Badrutdinova Minsylu born June 15, 1910 in a village of Bolshoi Oshnyak of Rybnoslobadskr region of Tatarstan. She came to the island of Sakhalin Okha in 1940 with her husband and two children, on recruitment to boost the economy of Sakhalin Oblast. During the war, she worked together with all for the sake of the Victory at a military warehouse in Okha. After the war, she was transferred to work at Schmidt Peninsula fish factory, as fish processor. In 1948, she was asked to temporarily work at the bakery, she worked there until retirement. Minsylu apa awarded the Order of the Great Patriotic War. For honest work she was given gratitude and certificates. She has six children , 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She spoke well the Tatar language, prayers and gladly sang old Tatar folk songs , “Kara Urman “, “Tugan Avylym ” etc.

Minsylu apa transferred in 2010 to Tatar “Educational and Cultural Center” Tugan Tel “, the most valuable – vintage book the Koran , the book of Tatar traditions and customs, handicrafts, a towel embroidered more than 90 years ago, brought from the village Bolshoy Oshnyak. Minsylu apa lived on Sakhalin for 74 years … A cherished memory to Minsylu apa!
