A new director – Iskander Gilyazov, head of the history department of the Tatar people of Kazan Federal University has been presented to the staff of the Institute of the Tatar Encyclopaedia. His candidacy was approved by Presidium of the Academy of Sciences last week.

Also, in the near future scientific institution is likely to change its name to the Institute of the Tatar Encyclopaedia and Regional studies. Recently, ITE has joined Research Center of Family and Demography of RT Academy of sciences.

Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, the author of the book about the “Legion Idel-Ural”, a member of the Editorial Board of «Ab imperio», a member of the Dissertation Council for PhD theses at Kazan University and the Institute of History after Sh. Mardzhani Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan.
