In Vienna, at the Russian Center for Science and Culture, a plenary meeting of the III Congress of the International Association of Tatars of the European Union “Alliance of Tatars of Europe” is held. The event is a unique event in the life of compatriots abroad, bringing together 53 representatives of the Tatar diasporas from 16 countries of Europe. The motto of the congress is “In unity is the future!”

Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Council Vasil Shaykhraziev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Austria Dmitry Lyubinsky, TR representative in Finland Albina Rakhimullina, TR representative in the Czech Republic Zufar Abdulgaliev, representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in Germany Takhir Gataullin take part in the congress.

Opening the congress, the participants were welcomed  by Ambassador Dmitry Lyubinsky. According to him, the Tatars in Russia take the second place in terms of numbers. Among the representatives of the Tatar nation there are many world famous people, he noted. He also spoke about the Miras organization, which has been successfully operating in Austria. The ambassador concluded his speech with the words in Tatar – “Venaga hush kildegez!”

Director of the Department for Work with Compatriots Abroad of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Oleg Malginov noted that the success of the alliance is a joint work with Tatarstan. He praised the work of the Republic of Tatarstan with compatriots living outside the republic. According to him, the event «Immortal Regiment» plays an important role in uniting compatriots. Oleg Malginov wished the congress fruitful work.

Vasil Shaikhraziev read out a greeting from  President of the Republic of Tatarstan, R.N. Minnikhanov on the occasion of the III Congress of the International Association of Tatars of the European Union “Alliance of Tatars of Europe”. The Chairman of the National Council noted that 2021 was declared the year of the history and culture of the Lithuanian Tatars in Lithuania. emphasized that the Alliance of the Tatars of Europe should not remain aloof from this event. Vasil Shaikhraziev also spoke about the significant date of the 100th anniversary of the TASSR. 2020 is the year of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory and the year of the census.

Vasil Shaikhraziev spoke about those events that help uniting   Tatars from all over the world – Sabantuy, the Tatar Kyzy contest, and the Tatarcha dictation educational campaign. He called on all compatriots to take an active part in the Tatarcha dictation, which will be held on October 19. He wished the congress success and noted that the event should be an impetus for even more active work in the field.

Then, with words of greeting,  director of the Center for Science and Culture of the Russian Federation in Austria and  representative of Rossotrudnichestvo Dmitry Sokolov addressed the congress participants. The representative of Tatarstan in Finland, Albina Rakhimullina, noted that  President of Tatarstan,  chairman of the National Council, sets great goals and hopes to save the Tatar nation.
