From July 30 to August 2, Kazan hosted the VIII Congress of the World Congress of Tatars.

Chairman of the Autonomy made a welcoming speech and spoke about the goals and uniqueness of the project.

Olympic champion in figure skating Alina Zagitova spoke about visiting the Friendship Games and the World Congress of Tatars in Kazan.

The event brought together more than 1,500 delegates and guests from 76 regions of Russia and 35 countries of near and far abroad.

For 30 years, the congress has been continuously working in this direction, Mintimer Shaimiev noted.

“We have history. It is published in seven volumes. Despite this, we must continue this work,” he stressed.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Vasil Shaykhraziev was elected Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars.

The presidium also included public figures and representatives of the Tatar regions

The event is attended by 136 delegates and guests representing the republic.

As part of the evening program for the delegates, a concert of masters of art of the Republic of Tatarstan was presented.
