Today, June 15, during his working visit to the Tomsk region, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the celebration of the federal Sabantui. RT President was accompanied by the regional governor Sergei Zhvachkin.
In the morning, President of Tatarstan visited the White Cathedral Mosque of Tomsk city. Here, Rustam Minnikhanov was told about of Muslim life in the city and the region, he spoke to the activists of the parish.
In the regional administration, an official meeting of the President of Tatarstan and the governor of Tomsk region was held, after which the leaders of the two regions went to celebrate the federal Sabantui.
At the park “City Garden” Rustam Minnikhanov and Sergey Zhvachkin passed along the row of shops where their best works presented masters of pottery, wood carving, forging and others.
At the stadium, honored guests, along with several thousand spectators watched a pageant, a parade of delegations of Tatar public organizations of ethnic and cultural regions of the Russian Federation. Thereafter Rustam Minnikhanov and Sergei Zhvachkin addressed the guests of the festival.
“This is a wonderful holiday tradition, and who the Tomsk citizens to accept this holyday because more than 100 nationalities in our region live – said the governor of Tomsk region. – Joining the culture of other nations, we will understand each other better, to build peace. ”
President of Tatarstan, in turn, thanked the leadership of the Tomsk region for hosting the 14th federal Sabantui. Also, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked delegations from Nizhnekamsk Municipal Region of Tatarstan for co-sponsoring the festival and visitors from other regions of Russia.
“Sabantui is a Tatar holiday, but it is celebrated in all the regions of our country. It became a favorite holiday in the whole of Russia “, – R. Minnikhanov said.
He handed gratitude of RT President to Tatar the activists ethno-cultural organizations of Tomsk region, and also gave a gift, a minibus, for the national-cultural autonomy of Tatars of Tomsk.
A solemn Sabantui’s flag-hoisting took place, and the holiday was declared open.
Rustam Minnikhanov and Sergei Zhvachkin visited farmstead of the Nizhnekamsk Municipal Region. Here the governor of Tomsk region tried his hand at traditional fun of Sabantui – smashing pot blindfolded. To the applause of many spectators, S.Zhvachkin broke the pot at the first attempt.
“We see how in demand is this holiday. Here representatives of all nationalities take part, and yet in the Tomsk region 100 nations reside – Rustam Minnikhanov said in an interview. – Each nation has its own peculiarities – Russia is strong by this. And so today, 56 regions of our country hold the Sabantuy. ”
