On August 30, the second festival of modern Tatar culture, “DARTFest 2024”, will take place in the Kazan Kremlin, coinciding with the Day of the City and the Republic. This event continues the traditions of TatCultFest, as reported by the organizers.
The festival will feature two stages showcasing live Tatar music, a design market, a fashion show, children’s and family playgrounds, as well as a lecture theatre titled “Akyl fabrikasy”.
The festivities will commence at 12 p.m. with a design market, where guests will have the opportunity to explore the creations of Tatarstan designers and craftsmen. An open call for participants is currently underway until August 23; interested individuals can complete a questionnaire on the festival’s website.
A dedicated children’s zone will be available for young attendees, alongside a family area designed for guests with children.
The main stage will be situated in the courtyard of the Kazan Kremlin’s Attendance Centre. Performers will include Yummy Music Band led by Yuri Fedorov, soloists Azat Bayazitov, Ilgiz Shaykhraziev, Elvira Miftakhova, the indie folk band Juna, and Azat Gilmetdin.
A smaller stage will be established in the Cannon Yard, featuring young solo artists and indie bands such as Garipov, Airat Khairullin, AliyaNur, Al Su, Elina, Alma, lunami, and qaynar. The headliner for this stage will be TATARKA.
A catwalk will also be organized here, where a fashion show featuring Tatarstan designers will take place. Attendees will have the chance to view clothing and accessories infused with national elements. There will also be an open call for designers and models.
Musical guests for the fashion show include beatmaker Malsi Music, Elvira Miftakhova, Ilgiz Shaykhraziev, and K-Ru.
Furthermore, attendees are invited to participate in a series of lectures titled “Akyl fabrikasy”, held in collaboration with the World Tatar Youth Forum.
The project organizers are also seeking volunteers; registration for participation in this large-scale event is available on the website.
