During a meeting with Tatarstan journalists, Vasil Shaykhraziyev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars, reminded everyone that the World Congress of the Tatars has declared 2025 as the “Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and Peace”.

During the discussion, the Chairman of the National Council also shared joyful news that occurred within his family this year. He managed to locate the grave of his paternal grandfather, Shaykhrazi Arslanov. For 80 years, Vasil Shaykhraziyev’s family had been searching for his grave, and this year, they finally succeeded in finding it. “This is a great source of pride for our family,” he noted.

It was revealed that Red Army soldier Arslanov was drafted into service on November 13, 1941, and joined the 120th Guards Rifle Regiment within the 39th Guards Rifle Division. In mid-August 1942, the soldiers took positions near the village of Trekhostrovskaya, where the division’s command post was located. Private S. A. Arslanov was wounded in one of the battles and died from his injuries on September 6, 1942, at a mobile field hospital in the settlement of Shirokov.
