Today, the filming of the semi-final games of the 4th season of the historical and cultural contest “Tarhan” will take place at the National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan. The contest is being organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in collaboration with the Institute of International Relations, History, and Oriental Studies of Kazan Federal University.

12 high school students from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Zelenodolsk, Yelabuga, Arsk, Sarmanovo, Bulgar, Aksubayevo, as well as from Kukmorsky and Tukay districts have already passed three qualifying rounds of the project. Now, they will compete not only for a spot in the final but also for the opportunity to enter Kazan Federal University in the “History of Turkic Peoples” program.

In the semi-final matchups, they will answer video questions posed by each other and demonstrate their knowledge of scientific and historical discoveries made in Kazan and Tatarstan.

To win, the young scholars will need more than just their school textbooks; a broad outlook and deep knowledge of Turkic history and contemporary issues will be essential.

The top three winners will receive priority for admission to the Institute of International Relations, History, and Oriental Studies of KFU.

The TV project continues to be broadcast on the TNV channel on Sundays at 11:30 AM. Currently, viewers can watch the games of the 1/8 finals of the fourth season of the historical and cultural contest “Tarhan.”
