The now-legendary ethno-modern festival “Karakuz”, held in Almetyevsk, will celebrate its fifth anniversary from July 18 to August 3, 2025. For the first time, the festival has named an official headliner – Saida Mukhametzyanova, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan and laureate of national and international competitions. This was announced by the organizers during a press conference at Tatar-inform dedicated to the upcoming event.
Renat Mamin, Deputy General Director for Social Development at PJSC Tatneft, highlighted that for the first time in five years, Karakuz has an official ambassador, and the choice was clear:
“We’ve taken a long time to reach this decision. We’ve never had an ambassador before, and this is a very important step for us. When the question arose of who should represent ‘Karakuz’ in the cultural world, my immediate thought was – it must be Saida Mukhametzyanova! She embodies all the values we hold dear: preservation of traditions, the energy of modernity, and a fresh interpretation of cultural heritage. Her international achievements at such a young age only reinforce that she is the perfect candidate,” Mamin emphasized.
According to the organizers, Saida Mukhametzyanova’s image, which reflects the richness of Tatar culture, will become the true symbol of the festival. She will take part in the opening and closing ceremonies, perform at the ethno-festival, and host an autograph session.
Saida herself expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her:
“This is a very big responsibility! It’s my first time participating in this festival, and I’m very excited. I’m confident that this will be a place of vibrant creative energy! ‘Karakuz’ is a unifying image—full of beauty, strength, passion, and overflowing with creativity!” she shared.
The singer also revealed that she is preparing a brand new costume especially for “Karakuz 2025.” She hopes to continue her collaboration with the festival and remain its ambassador in the future.
Named after the legendary warrior woman Karakuz, the festival traditionally unites contemporary art, music, and ethnic traditions. This year’s milestone edition promises to be especially grand, with performances from artists representing Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and even Spain. Visitors can look forward to carnival parades, jazz improvisations, performances, culinary workshops, and autograph sessions with the participants.
