The 2nd Far Eastern Sabantuy took place in Vladivostok

As part of the celebration of the 165th anniversary of the city of Vladivostok, the 2nd Far Eastern Sabantuy was held. This year, the national holiday took place in a new format — not in an open-air venue, but in the city’s philharmonic hall, in the form of a warm gathering with compatriots.

This format received strong support from the Governor of Primorsky Krai, Oleg Kozhemyako. The residents of Vladivostok — Tatars and representatives of other nationalities — also warmly embraced the updated format and expressed their gratitude to the organizers.

The official ceremony was attended by Vasil Shaykhraziev, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars. He warmly welcomed the gathered compatriots and presented awards on behalf of the World Congress of Tatars.

During the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold the Far Eastern Sabantuy in Vladivostok again in 2026. This stands as clear evidence that the Tatar national holiday has firmly taken root in the Far East and is recognized as an important spiritual and cultural event.

As part of the celebration, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the Eternal Flame. This element of the program added a special solemnity to the event and served as a reminder of the importance of historical continuity between generations.
