The Russian Islamic Institute, together with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan (SAM RT) and with the support of the Fund for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education, will hold the II All-Russian Symposium with International Participation “Traditions and Innovations in Muslim Education in Russia.”

As part of the symposium, the Forum of Teachers of Muslim Educational Institutions of SAM RT will take place. More than 500 teachers and administrators from primary, secondary, and higher levels of Muslim education in Tatarstan, as well as representatives of international Islamic educational centers, are expected to attend.

This annual event serves as a platform for discussing pressing issues in modern Muslim education in Russia. On the first day of the forum, October 22, the best practices of mosque-based courses, mosque activities, and muhtasibates will be presented. On the second day, October 23, teachers of madrasahs and Islamic universities will share their experiences. The Forum will also feature an awards ceremony honoring teachers and staff of spiritual educational institutions, as well as religious and public figures.

It is worth noting that starting this October, mosque-based courses on the basics of Islam and religious upbringing are opening in Tatarstan. In Kazan, 29 mosques are offering free classes for everyone interested. A full list can be found here.
