Dr. Khanisa Alishina, Doctor of Philological Sciences and Professor at Tyumen State University, has been awarded the badge of honor of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan “For the Preservation and Development of Languages, Cultures, and Traditions.”

She received the award for her personal contributions to preserving and strengthening spiritual values, reviving national traditions, and continuing the cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia.

The award ceremony took place in Kazan as part of the events dedicated to the “Millät Jyyeny” (“National Assembly”), organized by the World Congress of Tatars.

“I have remained faithful to my chosen profession.
As a professor and director of the Center for Turkology at Tyumen State University, I conduct research related to the languages of Russia.
For several years, I served as chairperson of the State Examination Commission at the Crimean Federal University in Simferopol, where I examined students and graduate students and participated in thesis defenses.
During the COVID period, this work was carried out remotely.

Upon completion of this large and responsible task, the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation included me in a research team funded by the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) to study the relationship between Turkic and Mongolic languages.
The project brought together ten leading specialists from major Turkological and Mongolian studies centers in Elista, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yakutsk, Abakan, and Tyumen, allowing us to build upon the most significant achievements of modern Turkology and Mongolian studies,”
— said Professor Khanisa Chaidatovna Alishina.

Dr. Alishina is also deeply involved in public and academic community work. She is a member of the Russian Professors’ Assembly, the Writers’ Union of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Journalists’ Union of the Russian Federation, the editorial board of the journal “Russian Turkology,” and the council of the federal newspaper “Tatar World.”

She also serves on the Public Chamber of the Tyumen Region, chairs the Commission on Education and Science of the Regional Tatar National-Cultural Autonomy, is a member of the Public Council under the Department of Education and Science of the Tyumen Region, the regional branch of the Assembly of the Peoples of Russia, and works as an assistant to a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and a deputy of the Tyumen Regional Duma.

“It is a serious responsibility that I try to fulfill to the best of my ability,”
— noted Dr. Alishina.
