The Centralized Library System of the Nizhnekamsk District has launched a municipal recitation contest titled “Lines of Courage,” dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the poet Musa Jalil.

The in-person stage of the contest will take place from January 23 to January 30. Participants who pass the remote selection round will be admitted to this stage. Reciters aged 5 and older are eligible to take part in the competition.

Nominations:

• A work by Musa Jalil — in full or an excerpt — must be presented in the Tatar language
  Up to 3 minutes.

• “Poet of the Heart and Fire”
  (A work by Musa Jalil — in full or an excerpt — must be presented in Russian)
  Up to 3 minutes.

• “Professional Performance”
  (For the age category “21 years and older”)
  Up to 5 minutes.

• “Guardian of the Word”
  (Essay, feature article, original poem, short story, etc.)
  (For the age categories “Grades 9–11 and students of educational institutions up to 20 years old” and “21 years and older”)
  Up to 5 minutes.
