The International Rudolf Nureyev Ballet Festival will take place in Ufa from March 10 to 21. The theater’s press service has presented the festival poster.
The ballet celebration will open with two classic ballets by Tchaikovsky. On March 10, the audience will see “Swan Lake,” and on March 12 – “The Nutcracker”. Odette-Odile will be performed by prima ballerina of the Kremlin Ballet Daria Kandelaki (Bochkova), Siegfried – by premier dancer of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater Sergei Bikbulatov. The role of Marie will be danced by prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Elizaveta Kokoreva, the Prince – by first soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Daniil Potaptsev, and Drosselmeyer – by artist of the ballet troupe of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater Dmitry Somov.
On March 14, the festival program will continue with Glazunov’s “Raymonda.” The role of Raymonda will be performed by leading soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Maria Vinogradova, Abderakhman – by premier dancer of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater Rustam Iskhakov, and Jean de Brienne – by premier dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Artemy Belyakov.
On March 15, the audience will be presented with a gala concert by the Moscow State Academy of Choreography.
On March 17, the public will see Minkus’s “La Bayadère.” For the role of Nikiya, prima ballerina of the Novosibirsk Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Olga Grishchenkova will come to Ufa, Solor – premier dancer of the same theater Roman Polkovnikov. Gamzatti will be performed by leading soloist of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater Sofia Saitova.
On March 18, the festival program will feature Løvenskjold’s ballet “La Sylphide.” The Sylph will be danced by prima ballerina of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater Valeria Isaeva, and James – by leading soloist of the Moscow Academic Musical Theatre named after K. Stanislavsky and V. Nemirovich-Danchenko Arthur Mkrtchyan.
On March 19, residents of Ufa will be shown Minkus’s “Don Quixote.” The role of Kitri will be performed by prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theatre Renata Shakirova, Basilio – by premier dancer of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater Rustam Iskhakov, and Espada – by soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre Nail Enikeev.
On March 21, the festival will conclude with a gala concert.
