Books by Kayum Nasyri to be presented in two languages with new illustrations at the Tukay Museum

On March 19 at 15:00, the Gabdulla Tukay Literary Museum will host a presentation of the books “Kitab at-Tarbiya” and “The Tale of Abu Ali Sina” to mark the 201st anniversary of the scholar and educator Kayum Nasyri.

The books were published in Nasyri’s anniversary year with the support of the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The book “Kitab at-Tarbiya” was printed in an edition of 2,500 copies and is presented in two languages. It introduces readers to the world of the scholar’s profound and wise teachings, many of which remain relevant today.

The second book, “The Tale of Abu Ali Sina”, is intended primarily for children. It has been published in the Tatar language with a print run of 3,125 copies. Its distinctive feature is that the text has been adapted for children for the first time, and the illustrations were created especially for the anniversary edition. All illustrations were developed from scratch and drawn by hand, giving the book special artistic value and appeal.

The designer of the publication is Maria Akhmetova. Thanks to her creative approach, the book has acquired a bright and vivid visual form that makes reading even more engaging.

“These editions are the first anniversary publications dedicated to the legacy of Kayum Nasyri. We hope they will become a gateway for readers into the amazing and fairy-tale world created by the scholar for his descendants and will help them better understand his ideas and wisdom,” said Kadriya Khalimova, head of the Kayum Nasyri Museum.

It should be noted that the Kayum Nasyri Museum (35 Parizhskoy Kommuny Street), a branch of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, is currently under restoration. Therefore, the ceremonial events will take place at the Tukay Literary Museum.
