A representative delegation of 45 leaders from the Congress of Tatars of Bashkortostan has arrived in Kazan. The visit will last two days — May 20 and 21. Guests will enjoy a rich program and memorable meetings.
Today began with a meeting with the leadership of the World Congress of the Tatars. The delegation from Bashkortostan was welcomed by Danis Shakirov, Head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars. Then, Mars Tukaev, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars, spoke about the 34-year history of the Congress and presented the organization’s main projects.
During the meeting, Shamil Yadkyarovich Khasanov (Chairman of the local branch of the Zianchurinsky district), Guzaliya Nagimyanovna Gizatullina (Deputy Chair of the local branch of the Alsheevsky district), and Klara Zakievna Sabiryanova (Chairman of the local branch of the city of Salavat) were awarded the Medal of the World Congress of the Tatars “For Great Service to the Tatar People.”
Afterwards, Kadriya Idrisova, head of the Organization of Tatar Women and chair of the regional public organization “Ak Kalfak,” and Gulnaz Shaikhi, head of the Public Relations and Media Department of the World Congress of the Tatars, addressed the guests.
Over the two days, the guests will enjoy tours of Kazan’s historical sites, cultural events, and visits to museums of famous figures. This afternoon, an excursion to the Old Tatar Settlement has been organized for the delegation from Bashkortostan. In the evening, the guests will attend the performance “Kazanga Tukay Kaytkan” at the G. Kamal Tatar State Academic Theater. Tomorrow’s program includes a visit to the Gabdulla Tukay Museum and the Musa Jalil Museum-Apartment.
We hope that the trip to Kazan — the meetings, excursions, and cultural events — will leave unforgettable impressions on the guests and further strengthen the friendship between the two regions.
