Vasil Shaykhraziev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars, during a working trip to Kazakhstan, familiarized himself with the progress of preparations for Sabantuy in the city of Petropavlovsk.
The delegation headed by Vasil Shaykhraziev inspected the venue where the national holiday will take place. The significance of Sabantuy for the Tatars living here, and for the residents of the republic in general, was noted as a celebration of friendship and multinational unity.
The delegation also reviewed the site for the installation of a bust of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay. The square where the bust will be placed will be named after Tukay.
The inspection was attended by the heads of the Departments of Culture, Education, and Sports of Petropavlovsk, and from Tatarstan — Vasil Shaykhraziev, Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars, representatives of the World Congress of the Tatars, and the leadership of the Menzelinsky District.
