The Sakhalin Tatars delegation met with chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov. The meeting was attended by chairman of the regional national-cultural autonomy of Tatars Sakhalin region Rinat Shaidullin, chairman of the Sakhalin regional public organization of educational and cultural center “Tugan Tel” Zakia Valitova, first deputy chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars Danis Shakirov, deputy chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars to work with Tatar public organizations of the Russian Federation regions Mars Tukaev.

On 8th March, opening the meeting, chairman of the World Congress of Tatars Executive Committee stressed the importance of such mutual visits. During the meeting Zakia Valitova shared our the achieved progress, and spoke about the upcoming work. It should be noted that

in March this year, the local Tatar organizations have merged to form a regional national-cultural autonomy of Tatars of the Sakhalin Region, Rinat Shaidullin was elected chairman. Thanks to the efforts of the Sakhalin Tatars, a land for a Muslim cemetery Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk has been allocated , to the 110th birth anniversary of Tatar poet-hero Musa Jalil the DVD “The fate of Musa Jalil: climbing to feat” was issued. The conversation touched also the upcoming children’s Sabantui and other joint activities planned.

On behalf of the World Congress of Tatars Rinat Zakirov thanked the delegation. Tatars of the Sakhalin region are among the most active in the Russian Far East Federal District.
