Composer, artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra of the Tatar State Drama and Comedy Theatre named after K. Tinchurin Ilyas Kamal became a winner of the III All-Russian Competition of Young Composers “Partitura” in the “Best Opera” nomination with his work “Eagles of the Urals”.
The results of the competition were announced at a gala concert in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.
The winners of the competition will receive cash prizes. In addition, their music will be aired on Radio Orpheus, and the scores will be placed on the electronic platform of the Orpheus music archive for public access.
This year was a record-breaking year for the “Partitura” competition in terms of the number of applications – 1094, 40 works were selected for the finals. The jury consisted of eminent musicians and cultural figures – Alexander Chaikovsky, Chairman of the Council of the Russian Composers’ Union, Alexander Sokolov, Rector of the Moscow Conservatoire, conductor Yuri Bashmet, Dmitry Bertman, Founder and Artistic Director of the Helikon Opera, composer Zuo Zhenguan (China) and others.
