The 7th All-Russian (Ural) Scientific and Local History Conference was held at the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars

Today, 20 November, the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Tatars hosted the 7th All-Russian (Ural) Scientific and Local History Conference “The Tatars of the Urals. Tatar settlements and outstanding figures of the Tatar people in the regions of the Iset, Sinara, and Miass river basins: history and modernity,” held within the framework of the 7th Eurasian Scientific and Local History Forum “Tatars of the Volga-Ural Region: History and Modernity” (the 4th Kamalov (Ust-Bagaryak) Scientific and Local History Readings).

The conference is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941–1945), the 200th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Tatar enlightener, educator, and scholar-encyclopedist Kayum Nasyri (1825–1902), and to honoring the memory of several outstanding figures connected with Ust-Bagaryak:
— Zhamaletdin Sirazetdinovich Kamalov (1883–1937) — founder and first director (1922–1937) of the Nizhnederevenskaya (Ust-Bagaryak) School;
— Shakir Shigapovich Abilov (1915–2004) — renowned Tatar philologist and author of “Mukhamedyar”;
— Venera Zainullovna Safina (1926–2014) — director of the school (1970–1986);
— Sariya Shigapovna Suleymanova (1929–2022) — teacher of Tatar language and literature;
as well as the memory of all teachers and school leaders of Ust-Bagaryak and the Kunashak district.
The event is also part of preparations for the 140th anniversary of Gabdulla Tukay (1886–1913) and the 120th anniversary of Musa Jalil (1906–1944), and commemorates the 11 Tatar anti-fascist heroes of the Kurmash–Jalil underground resistance group.

The conference opened with remarks by Albert Akhmetzhanovich Burkhanov, Head of the Committee for Work with Tatar Local Historians of the World Congress of Tatars, member of the National Council of the WCT, Chairman of the Association of Tatar Local Historians of the Republic of Tatarstan, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and professor.

A series of video reports was shown summarizing the results of stages I–II of the 12th Eurasian Scientific and Local History Forum “Tatars of the Volga–Oka Interfluve: History and Modernity”, as well as materials from local history forums held across the Ural region (Perm, Serov, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Ust-Bagaryak, Magnitogorsk, and others). The author of these materials is Rasikh Kharisovich Sabirzyanov.

During the first part of the plenary session, reports were delivered by:

During the second part, the speakers included:
Nur Firkhatovich Khusainov, Khozyra Gizyatovna Abdulmeneva, Khairis Migdyatovich Khakimov, Kharis Zinnurovich Ismailov, Minzifa Khayrutdinovna Akhmetshina, Alexey Igorevich Bugarchev, Oleg Vitalyevich Stepanov, Liliya Gayaztinovna Salakhova, Rushat Zavdatovich Sultanov, Almira Inzilevna Sharifullina, Razilya Minekhanovna Khamidullina, Raisa Abdullovna Mullakhmetova, Firziya Faislamovna Sabiryanova, Marat Shamilyevich Akhatov, Ilfar Gabdelkhaevich Gabdrahmanov, Anvyar Ayseevich Ashirov, Fagit Fanilovich Fazylov, Gulnaz Sultanovna Kadirova, Nurulla Gimatdinovich Garif, Rezeda Ravisovna Garipova, Vyacheslav Vlasovich Danilov, Nazila Nailovna Badertdinova, Akhat Sitdikovich Khafizov, Albert Gumerovich Daminov, Farit Masabikhovich Nabiullin.

Conference participants emphasized the importance of continued collaboration in studying archaeological, epigraphic, architectural, industrial, and other historical and cultural monuments; archival, museum, folklore, and written materials; as well as the life, work, achievements, and contributions of notable Tatar figures — natives of rural and urban settlements — to the spiritual and cultural development of the people and the country. They also highlighted the importance of preserving their legacy.

During the final session, conference participants and activists of the local history movement were awarded certificates and acknowledgements.

The participants expressed gratitude to the Organizing Committee, the World Congress of Tatars, activists of the All-Russian Society “Tatar Villages of the Urals,” and local history organizations for the excellent preparation and organization of the conference, held on 20 November 2025 in Kazan. Guests from Tatarstan districts, Perm Krai, and the Sverdlovsk, Kemerovo, Chelyabinsk, Orenburg, and Nizhny Novgorod regions were warmly welcomed.
They also thanked all speakers whose presentations introduced new data on the history and modern life of Tatars and other peoples historically residing in the basins of the Iset, Sinara, Miass, UY, and Ural rivers, as well as other territories of the Ural region.
