The Tuymazinsky State Tatar Drama Theater has closed its 34th theatrical season with the premiere of the play “The Last Mahijan,” based on a work by Ravil Sabir.

This play was among the winners of the intensive seminar on contemporary dramaturgy held in Tatarstan.

The comedy, which tells the story of a young man obsessed with the idea of continuing his lineage, was performed with great success, receiving thunderous applause and numerous positive reviews from the audience. The light yet timely play, carrying deep meaning, was performed by the actors “in one breath.” The author, the talented contemporary playwright and laureate of the Tufan Minnullin Prize, Ravil Sabirov, attended the premiere.
