November 28, an organizational meeting of local branch of the interregional public organization “The World Congress of Tatars” took place in Buinsk town.
The event was attended by representatives of the administration, the school named after Mullanur Vakhitov, Buinsky Drama Theatre, Local Lore Museum, central regional library, clergy, veterans, as well as the famous Tatar writer of Buinsky region Gulnur Aizetullova and journalists.
Head of department on work with local offices of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars in Tatarstan Danis Shakirov introduced the activities of the organization. According to him, today there are about 400 WCT offices, 45 of them are located in the republic of Tatarstan.
The meeting was held in a warm and cozy atmosphere. Each participant spoke in native Tatar. It was also noted that the revival of Tatar culture promotes interethnic harmony in the society. In Buinsk, various activities are held aimed at development of Tatar culture and language. Furthermore, it became a tradition to conduct annual Tatar national holiday “Sabantui” for residents of the neighboring region – the Ulyanovsk oblast.
The meeting elected a new head of Buinsk department of World Congress of Tatars. By the way, previously, it was held by director of Buinsk Drama Theatre Rail Sadriev. He had to step out due to tight schedule of the artist.
The Bureau voted unanimously for chief editor of the regional newspaper ” Bayrak ” Gakil Kamaletdinov. He, in turn, thanked the present for their trust and promised to justify the confidence .
