The competition of the Tatar spiritual culture “Rukhi Mon” has started in Tatarstan. It is held for the fourth time as part of the Year of National Cultures and Traditions. The main organizers are the creative association “Rukhi Mon”, the commission for the preservation and development of the Tatar language, the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan, the madrasah named after the 1000th anniversary of the adoption of Islam.

The competition is aimed at reviving the traditional melody, enriching the genre of religious chant, which has absorbed the fundamental values of the Tatar people, as well as improving the quality of the performance of the azan and sermons in the Tatar language, etc.

The festival-competition is held in 4 nominations: “Religious song”, “Munajat”, “Azan based on the Tatar maqam” and “Vagaz”.

Participants can send a video with their performance in these genres to the email [email protected]. Applications are accepted until March 21, 2023. The works are evaluated by a competent jury, which includes religious figures and representatives of culture.

The gala concert will take place on April 21 – the day of Eid al-Fitr – in the cultural center “Chulpan” (Kazan). More information about the competition is on the website
