Two books published by the Tatar Book Publishing House have become diplomates of the national competition of the Association of Book Publishers of Russia (ASKI) “Best Publications on the History and Contemporary Development of National Cultures of the Peoples of Russia and Integration into the All-Russian Cultural Process.”
In the nomination “Best Publications for Children and Youth,” the book “Tatar Folk Tales” in the Tatar, Russian, and English languages received a laureate diploma.
Additionally, “Ethnic Musical Instruments of the Tatars” by musicologist Gennady Makarov received a commendation from the Committee on Nationalities Affairs of the State Duma of the Russian Federation for the popularization of folk culture.
The ceremony announcing the diplomates of the competition took place in Elista, at the book festival “Books of the Peoples of Russia,” organized by ASKI and the National Library of Kalmykia.
The competition was held as part of the book program dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared in the country.
