On March 14, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov together with the Head of Zelenodolsk region Mikhail Afanasyev, Tatarstan Mufti Kamil hazrat Samigullin and Executive Director of the Cultural Development Support Fund under the Rais of Tatarstan Nuriya Khashimova took part in a ceremony of opening a new mosque in the village of Novaya Tura of Zelenodolsk region.

The mosque is designed for 250 believers. There are separate rooms for men and women, and a room for classes with children. Construction work was carried out with funds from philanthropists and with the support of the Cultural Development Support Fund under the Rais of Tatarstan.

Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the village residents on the opening of the mosque and thanked everyone involved in the construction. “Today, in the holy month of Ramadan, we are present at this joyful event. I express my sincere gratitude to the patrons and all citizens who participated in the construction. This is a very big and charitable cause,” he emphasized.

Afanasyev said that the opening of the mosque was a long-awaited event for the residents of the village of Novaya Tura.

In the future, it is planned to develop the area next to the mosque and the nearby lake. A madrasah, a nikah center, a hotel and a kindergarten will be opened here. There will also be sports and children’s playgrounds and walking areas.
