On the birthday of the Tatar educator Kayum Nasyri – February 14, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan launched the I Republican competition of local history works. Let us remind you that in 2025 the 200th anniversary of Kayum Nasyri will be widely celebrated in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The main goals of the competition are to preserve the historical memory of the republic, stimulate the educational activities of the younger generation, and collect information from personal family and collective archives.

The competition is held in order to popularize the history of the native land, develop citizenship and patriotism. Residents of the Republic of Tatarstan aged 16 years and older are eligible to take part in it.

Competition materials can be submitted in the following categories:

– “History of the native village and urban settlements”;

– “Local myths and legends”;

– “Artifacts of the Past”;

– “Local history routes and guides.”

The works of the competition participants are considered in absentia in two stages:

Stage 1. Works for the competition are accepted in electronic form (for example, DVD disc) until June 1, 2024 by email [email protected] or by hand at the address: 420060, Kazan, st. Pushkin, 66/33, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, office No. 114 with a note for the competition “My history – My Tatarstan!”

Stage 2. Creative works selected at the 1st stage of the competition are posted on the official website of the Ministry and the resources of the organizers for further online voting.
