On December 17, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, presented the Order of “Dostlug” (“Friendship”) to the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. It is worth noting that the Rais of the republic is currently on a working visit to Baku.
The Order is awarded to citizens of Azerbaijan and foreign nationals for significant contributions to the development of friendly, economic, and cultural ties between the Republic of Azerbaijan and foreign states, as well as for a special role in strengthening friendship between peoples and outstanding achievements in establishing peace and stability between countries and regions.
“You are doing a great deal to strengthen our ties. I wish success and prosperity to the brotherly people of Tatarstan,” Ilham Aliyev remarked.
Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the longstanding friendship between Azerbaijan and Tatarstan has been facilitated by the warm personal relationship that existed between Heydar Aliyev and Mintimer Shaimiev.
