On April 26, the large-scale event “Tatarcha diktant,” dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Gabdulla Tukay, took place at the Tatar cultural center in Yekaterinburg.

This event united Tatars around the world, reminding them of the importance of their native language and culture. Young people from Yekaterinburg also did not stand aside and took an active part in the event. The youngest participant was Aizilya, who is only 7 years old.

Gabdulla Tukay is a great Tatar poet whose work became the foundation of national literature and a symbol of the spiritual unity of the Tatar people. His poems and works are known and loved in all corners of the world.
