As part of a business program in Turkmenistan, Vasil Shaykhraziev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of the Tatars, held a meeting with Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the participants discussed issues related to cooperation between the republics in the field of education. Turkmenistan actively participates in higher education programs of the Republic of Tatarstan.

As of February 2026, 7,138 citizens of Turkmenistan are studying at higher education institutions located in the Republic of Tatarstan. A total of 233 citizens of Turkmenistan are receiving education through Rossotrudnichestvo quotas. Turkmenistan ranks first in the number of students studying in universities of Tatarstan.
