In Baku, “Tatarcha diktant” took place at two venues

On April 26, 2026, the international educational event “Tatarcha diktant,” dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay, was held at the Baku Educational and Cultural Center “Kayum Nasyri Institute.”

Before the event began, the unofficial anthem of the Tatar people, “Tugan tel” (Native Language), was performed by the participants, creating a special atmosphere of unity, respect for the native language, and cultural heritage.

The event was attended by young children, schoolchildren, youth, as well as representatives of the middle and older generations. The text of the dictation was read by Elmira Yusifli, head of the Baku Center “Kayum Nasyri Institute.”

Additionally, “Tatarcha diktant” was written at a second venue, the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Republic of Azerbaijan, by members of the Tatar societies “Ak Kalfak” and “Tugan tel.” The text was read by Saniya Almyasheva, chairperson of the Tatar Women’s Society “Ak Kalfak.”

A total of 40 people participated in the educational event in offline format.

Participants tested their knowledge of the Tatar language, engaged with the rich literary tradition, and once again affirmed the importance of preserving their native language and national culture.

Each participant received a letter of gratitude from Raynur Khasanov, head of the World Forum of Tatar Youth, for their active participation in the international educational initiative.

At the conclusion of the event, participants took commemorative photos and gathered for a friendly tea party, held in a warm and sincere atmosphere of communication.

We thank all participants for their interest in the Tatar language, their activity, and their contribution to the preservation of national Tatar culture!
