Vasil Shaykhraziev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the National Council of the World Congress of Tatars, has arrived in the Republic of Mordovia on a working visit. During the trip, Vasil Shaykhraziev met with the organizing committee, reviewed the progress of preparations for the celebration, and inspected the Sabantuy venue.

Also taking part in the inspection of the Sabantuy site, which will be held in the village of Aksenovo in the Lyambirsky District, were Danis Shakirov, head of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of Tatars; Damir Natfullin, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan; Damir Ishkineyev, head of the Nurlatsky District; and, from the Mordovian side, Galina Lotvanova, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Mordovia; Svetlana Baulina, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Mordovia; Insaf Khairullin, head of the Lyambirsky District; and representatives of various ministries and agencies.

The program of the national holiday is planned to be rich and engaging. Guests will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Tatar culture, traditional games, the national wrestling style Kuresh, national cuisine, and folk festivities. A concert program featuring amateur creative ensembles is also expected.

On the Tatarstan side, the Nurlatsky District has been assigned to assist in organizing and holding the Sabantuy. The champion of the national Kuresh wrestling will be presented with a gift from the Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan — a car. The winner of the horse races will receive an award from the Head of the Republic of Mordovia.

The celebration is expected to be attended by the Head of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov, and the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.

The Sabantuy in Mordovia is not only a holiday but also a symbol of friendship between peoples. It promotes mutual cultural enrichment and gives other nations the opportunity to become acquainted with the traditions of the Tatar people.
