Presentation of the book “Kasimov Khanate” in Ryazan

On Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in Ryazan, at the department of local history of Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library named after M. Gorky the book by Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Cheremin “Kasimov Khanate (XV-XVIII century)” was presented. In the monograph, on the basis of referred, never investigated by researchers, of historical sources, a unique story, in its way, the state – Kasimov Khanate (Meshchera yurt) is given. The presentation took place within the framework announced in Russia in 2015, the Year of Literature, at an extraordinary meeting of the regional club of local historians and Ryazan researchers. The event was attended by imam mukhtasib of the Ryazan region Rashid Hazrat Bultacheev, a representative for the Ministry of territorial entities and associations of the Ryazan region Igor Mitrofanov, deputy director of the library Svetlana Alexeevna Vinokurova, members of Local History Library, residents of the city.

In the book “Kasimov Khanate (XV-XVIII century)” a brief excursion into the ethnography of Kasimov Tatars is given, the history of the city in the periods indicated in the composition of various political formations is traced. The publication shows the colorful illustrations of cultural heritage since Kasimov Khanate, household items and clothing of Kasimov Tatars. As a historical perspective, the author presents genealogical scheme of khans who ruled in a given period of time. Alexander Cheremin gives more earlier date of creationof Meshchera yurt of Kazan Khanate , dating it September 1445, not 1445 as previously thought. Confirming the facts, the historian presents archive material collected over the years, including in the Crimea, Europe, and the Topkapi Palace (Cannon Gate) in Istanbul.
